National Tribal Entrepreneurship Conclave Held in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: India’s First National Tribal Entrepreneurs Conclave focusing on tribal entrepreneurship and to inspire, nurture and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among the tribals and its youth was held in the city today.

Union Minister for Tribal Welfare Jual Oram, was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the conclave. Azmeera Chandulal, Minister for Tribal Welfare, Govt of Telangana graced as guest of honor. Addressing the gathering Jual Oram said being SC and ST is both advantageous and disadvantageous. Advantages are, we get reservations in education, jobs and politics. Disadvantages are we are not treated on par with others. Disparity is shown. They don’t recognise the talent in us, he said

Jual Oram and Etela Rajendar gave away Dr. B. R Ambedkar Entrepreneurship Awards to some outstanding Tribal Entrepreneurs who include Smt Anita Raj, President, DICCI Women’s Wing. Etela Rajendar, Finance Minister of Telangana, said Telangana State today stands as a role model among other States in the country in terms of subsidies and schemes offered to SC and STS. TS Govt want you to stand on your feet. Bangaru Telangana means all must get equal opportunities and it is our goal, he informed.
Azmeera Chandulal said schemes are okay, but, they must be implemented effectively.

Milind Kamble, Chairman of DICCI said under Startup India, they aim to produce 1,50,000 SC and ST entrepreneurs in next 3 years. Ravi Kumar Narra, DICCI National Working President, said that SCs and STs don’t need concessions. All they need is connections and little handholding in making them successful in their entrepreneurial endeavours.

Senior Bureaucrat Somesh Kumar while addressing the gathering said Tribals are in the forefront of new models of business.

Several Tribal Entrepreneurs who achieved a great success took part as special guests.

Alka Nangia Arora, Joint Secretary of SME; G. Ramesh Kumar, CMD, NSTFDC and Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC were special guests at the inaugural function.

Suresh Naik, President of Hyderabad ISTTM Business School shared his journey. ISTTM is one of the premier business schools in Hyderabad, specialized in IT, Telecom, and Infrastructure business Management.

The theme of the meet was “Entrepreneurship Empowers Everyone.” The conclave was planned in association with Ministry of MSME, Govt of India; Ministry of Tribal Affairs; National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation; Govt of Telangana and The National SC-ST Hub.
