On August 25, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will open three sites of worship within the Dr BR Ambedkar Secretariat building complex: the Nalla Pochamma temple, a mosque, and a church. These religious structures are a part of the recently built Secretariat building.
On August 19, the Minister for Roads and Buildings, Vemula Prashant Reddy, examined these sacred places. He noted that these prayer halls were established at the request of the Chief Minister to foster religious unity.
The Ganapati, Pochammagudi, Hanuman, and Shivalayam temples were completed as part of the temple’s 2,300-yard construction. Idols for the temples are being imported from Tirupati, and the temple will be inaugurated with a ‘yagam’.
Prashant Reddy emphasized that the mosque and church will be launched in accordance with their respective faiths and ceremonies, in the presence of religious authorities. Telangana, he said, is a prime example of ‘Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb,’ demonstrating religious plurality and harmony. The new worship venues have been built in a more spiritually friendly atmosphere than the previous ones, expressing the Chief Minister’s appreciation for all faiths.
