NIRDPR urged visiting officials to work for economic sustainability of rural India

With a view to study the way the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj  (NIRDPR) is functioning for the development of Rural areas and the achievements it made in the field of rural development, a team of officials from Bihar made a three day visit to NIRDPR Hyderabad.

The three day long Learning-cum-Exposure visit was kick started from September 15 and will conclude on September 17. Officers belong to four batches i.e. 62nd, 63rd, 64th and 65th batch will be part of the study tour. All these officers are presently working as Joint Sub-Registrars in the State of Bihar.

Addressing the inaugural session, Shashi Bhushan, Deputy Director General, NIRDPR Hyderabad shared his experiences and urged the officers to work with sincerity, free of  mind and without bias which will help them grow further in the future.

“The officers should walk with the society, family as well as the work identically and contentedly besides feeling an inner satisfaction so that when they look behind the past they need not to feel sorry for it,” he suggested. The senior official also explained about the role of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in the country which is about 10% of the whole Government of India’s budget spending on RD&PR.

He also shed a light over the role the NIRDPR is playing in the field of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and stress the need to improve RDPR structures in the country, think tank for continuous development process in the areas of RD&PR through training and research in the areas like MGNREGA, PMGSY, NRLM, Skill Development etc. “We at NIRDPR mainly focus on the development of economic conditions and livelihood of rural poor,” the Deputy Director General asserted.

The team of officials will made an institutional visit to National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG), Telangana Academy of Land Information and Management (TALIM), Registration Office, Revenue Office, Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) of Government of Telangana and also visited the historical places like Shilparamam, Durgam Cheruvu, Golconda Fort, Charminar, Tank Bund and Ramoji Film city as was planned.

The programme was organised by Dr.M.V Ravi Babu, Dr. P.Kesava Rao and Dr.NSR Prasad of Centre for Geo-Informatics Applications in Rural Development, NIRDPR, Hyderabad.
