No Covid Vaccine Shortage Anytime Soon; Assures Chairperson for National Technical Advisory Group

India has been held in help as the Covid 19 vaccinations had fallen short. However, in the recent update, the Central government made it clear that there won’t be any issue regarding vaccine supply in the upcoming days.

Centre Announces 20-22 Crores Covid19 Vaccination Doses In Next Month 

As per the latest reports, India has the capacity to administer 1.25 crore Covid vaccine doses a day. The central government further assured that there won’t be any vaccine supply issues in the upcoming days. Within the next month, 20-22 crores doses will be administered.

Dr N.K Arora, Chairperson of National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation in India (NTAGI) said that a record of 85 lakh doses were administered across the country until Monday midnight. This came into effect a day after the new vaccination policy was announced.

Arora quoted a Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHF) said that dosage achieved on Monday was a “big achievement”. He said that their aim is vaccinate at least one crore people per day.

“Our capacity is such that we will easily be able to administer 1.25 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine every day,” said Arora.

NTAGI Chairperson Assures Better Health Infrastructure

At the same time, Arora assured everyone that the health infrastructure to conduct the vaccination drive across the country is well spread out. And the drive will reach every corner of the country.

He further spoke about the history of vaccinations in the country. He said that the target of one crore vaccination doses per day is not unprecedented as India gives out polio vaccines to around 17 crores children per week.

Arora added that India’s Covid 19 vaccination drive is going to be a prime example of how the public and private sectors could join together to solve a pandemic. Further talking about the dosage interval, Chairperson said that there is no need to change the interval for now.
