Ramesh Reddy Director of Medical clarified that no positive case of Nipah Virus was detected in the city.
According to the sources one patient admitted in Fever hospital is only a suspected case but the samples of his blood and throat swabs sent to the National institute of Viroloy, Pune for test for the deadly Nipah virus infection.
“The patient recently visited Kerala but not Kozhihode, where the disease is present”, he said.
“While another patient is undergoing treatment at Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences and his samples also sent to Pune for Nipah Virus test, Mr Ramesh said.
“We already alerted the all important hospitals across the state over the deadly virus”, he added.
