Hyderabad: A notorious chain snatcher Gaddam Madan Mohan, 35, a driver of Gandhi Nagar, Kapra and Kushaiguda was arrested for committed six snatchings under Kushaiguda Division in Malkajgiri Zone of Rachakonda Commissionerate.
Consequent to a series of chain snatchings under Kushaiguda and Jawahar Nagar police limits, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police formed special teams to curb the menace. The accused was apprehended by Kushaiguda DI B. Bhaskar near Biryani Zone Restaurant at Chakripuram crossroads, Kushaiguda on Monday evening.
Gaddam Madan Mohan, a graduate, hails from Gandhi Nagar, Kapra, got married in 2010 and worked in Apollo Hospital Pharmacy, Jubilee Hills. Later, he opened a Bakery in Gandhi Nagar, Kapra for livelihood. As the business was not lucrative, he resorted to chain snatchings to meet family needs.
On his confession, the police seized 21.6 tolas of gold ornaments worth Rs 6.5 lakh and two motor cycles from his possession. (NSS)
