Hyderabad: Noted folk artiste, Secretary of Telangana Praja Natya Mandali Nissar died today while undergoing treatment at continental hospitals in the city. He has been under treatment for lungs related problems for the last couple of days.
Nissar was born in a sudden village of Gundala Mandal of the Nalgonda district. He started his career as a lorry driver and later became a conductor. He used to take part in people’s agitation out of interest and took part in hundreds of such agitation. The activists of civil liberties expressed their condolences over the death of Nissar.
Noted for his folk songs during the Telangana movement, Mohammad Nissar Ahmed, popularly known as Nissar, was also State Secretary for RTC Employees Union and was an influential figure in the field of folk music in Telangana.
