Hyderabad: Following a request made by the Telangana Government, the Chairman of NTPC Gurudeep Singh has agreed to supply an additional 1,500 MW of power to the State to meet the huge need for power for the Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation project, from 2020 onwards.
On the direction of the Chief Minister KCR, the chairman and MD of TS Transco and Genco D Prabhakar Rao made the request to the NTPC Chief at NTPC Southern Region Customer meet held in Goa yesterday, and the latter has agreed to the request.
A press release said that the NTPC has agreed to supply 1,500 MW of solar power to the State at a tariff less than Rs.3 per unit.
