NUJ to Hold Silent Protest Today against Attacks on Scribes

Hyderabad: National Union of Journalists (India) is holding a silent protest at Dr. BR Ambedkar statue, Tank bund, at 10.30 am on December 25 against the attacks on media persons in connecting with the ongoing agitation against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizenship (NRC) at different places like Delhi, Lucknow, and  Patna.

NUJ-I National secretary S Srishailam said in a press note today that there have been brutal attacks on media persons, their equipment and their vehicles with massive damage to equipment and vehicles in many places.  They were shocked and concerned at the attitude of the agitators and the apathy/inability of law and order machinery of the state to prevent such attacks.  ‘We have called upon all media organizations and citizen welfare organizations to join the peaceful protest’, he added.
