On Monday, officials from the Drugs Control Administration (DCA) uncovered an Ayurvedic medicine, ‘Stone Crush Syrup,’ circulating in the market with a misleading label claim that it treats ‘Kidney Stones.’ The product, found at a medical store in Rangareddy district, was seized during a raid.
The DCA stated that such advertisements violate the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, which prohibits the advertisement of certain drugs for the treatment of specific diseases and disorders.
During special raids conducted on Monday, May 27, DCA officials identified the misleading claim on the Ayurvedic syrup’s label regarding its purported ability to treat kidney stones.
The Ayurvedic syrup was discovered by DCA officials at a medical shop in Kothur Village, Kothur Mandal, Rangareddy District. Stocks of the product were seized during the raid.

The raid was carried out by Anvesh, Drugs Inspector, Shabad, G. Ravikiran, Drugs Inspector, Rajendranagar, and P. Chandrakala, Drugs Inspector.
