Old City Bonalu on August 5

Hyderabad, Aug.1 (NSS): Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav today said that elaborate and perfect arrangements have been made for the famous Old City Bonalu on August 5 and procession on the following day. He said that the arrangements are being made at the temples in the old city including Bangaru Mysamma in Haribowli, Akkanna Madanna, Gowlipura Sri Bharatamma, Sri Mutyalamma, Simhavahini Lal Darwaja and Sri Darbar Mysamma in Karwan. At Lal Darwaja, he reviewed the arrangements on the famous Bonalu festival that will reflect culture and tradition of Telangana to the world. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao offered Rs 15 cr for conducting Bonalu on a grand scale he said. He also instructed the officials to coordinate for smooth darshan of the presiding deities to the people. Since lakhs of devotees will join the festivities the departments have to coordinate he said. The minister said that the departments will provide traffic regulation, barricading, parking, power supply, generators, water and sanitation and security at the temples. (NSS)
