Old City’s Hyderabad Metro Train delayed

Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited N V S Reddy said the department had completed the surveys and is waiting for the decision of the State government on whether to acquire 80 feet or 100 feet land. Once the decision on the area to be acquired is taken then the L&T will go for land acquisitions. He said it would at least take six months to acquire lands. Hence works are not likely to begin before 2019 in Old City.

The government is keen to take Metro Rail to Shamshabad from all sides and for taking up Metro Rail to Shamshabad from all sides surveys are going on and looking at possibilities to connect to Shamshabad, he said.

He informed that the number of commuters has increased from 20000 to 70000 daily. If metro rail is started from LB Nagar to Hi-Tech City, the number of commuters might increase. He also told that the works pertaining to Metro Rail route from Ameerpet to Hi-Tech City will be completed in October this year.
