Hyderabad: Metropolitan Sessions Judge, L.B. Nagar N. Narsing Rao on Monday convicted one R. Anil, 28, of Hafeezpet in Sanathnagar on the charge of kidnapping and raping a minor girl student and sentenced him to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment and to pay fine of Rs 10,000.
Following a complaint from Bagadam Surendar, a car driver of Hemavathi Nagar, Erragadda on June 23, 2014,that his niece Metari Swetha, 18, a B Tech student left home at Snehapuri colony, Borabanda, to go to college in the morning and did not return home. Basing on the statement of the victim, the police altered the woman missing case to kidnap and rape case under Sections 366(A), 420, 201, 376(2)(n) IPC and investigated the case.
After the trial, the Judge held the accused guilty of the charges and sentenced the accused to imprisonment and fine.
