Owner of Lakshmi Srinivasa Construction Arrested for Illegal Villas and Land Grabbing Charges

P Vijaya Lakshmi, the owner of Lakshmi Srinivasa Construction, was arrested on Thursday morning by Dundigal police after allegedly attempting to flee the country at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). Lakshmi, who faces serious charges of land grabbing and illegal construction, was apprehended just before boarding a flight to the United States.

The arrest comes after a series of complaints and legal actions against Lakshmi and her construction company. The Hyderabad Development and Regulatory Authority (HYDRAA) had previously demolished several villas built by Lakshmi Srinivasa Constructions in the Mallampet area due to their illegal nature. Lakshmi has been on the run since the demolitions, with multiple cases filed against her for land grabbing and unauthorized construction.

According to police reports, immigration officials at the airport alerted authorities about her attempt to flee the country. Upon receiving this information, Dundigal police swiftly arrived at RGIA and took Lakshmi into custody before she could board her international flight.

Following her arrest, Lakshmi was shifted to the Dundigal police station, where she was interrogated. Authorities are currently arranging for her to undergo medical tests before presenting her in court for remand in judicial custody.

The arrest has stirred significant attention, as a large number of victims who were affected by the illegal construction have gathered at the Dundigal police station. They have expressed their grievances over the unlawful actions of Lakshmi Srinivasa Constructions, which reportedly led to financial and emotional distress for many residents.

Police officials have confirmed that further investigations are underway, and Lakshmi is expected to face additional legal consequences in connection to her role in the illegal construction operations and land grabbing activities.

As the case develops, authorities are expected to continue their efforts to hold accountable those involved in illegal construction and land disputes.
