As per the latest reports, Pakistan’s Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has said blamed previous Prime Minister Imran Khan for deceiving the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the costs of petroleum and diesel.
Ismail said previous Khan’s administration had guaranteed the IMF to force 17% general deals charge (GST) and 30 PKR demand on petroleum and diesel costs, reports Samaa TV. “They (the PTI government) guaranteed the IMF it won’t bear the misfortune on petroleum and diesel costs. Yet, today, (the nation) is losing 70 PKR on diesel.”
As per the responsibilities made by the PTI government to the IMF, the cost of petroleum ought to have been 295 PKR and not 150 PKR, Samaa TV cited Islmail as saying.
“They used to guarantee something to the IMF and afterward offer something totally divergent in Pakistan.” He named these responsibilities as “landmines left by the PTI government”.
Ismail said the heap shedding occurring in Pakistan these days is expected to the “ineptitude” of the past government. He added that forces to be reckoned with 7500 MW limit were closed when the past government finished.

“Powerhouses with 5500 MW limit were shut on the grounds that they had no heater oil or gas. 2000 MW powerhouses were closed on the grounds that their upkeep was not done on time and had no extra parts,” said Ismail.
