Pakistani Actress Humaira Asghar Likely Died 9 Months Ago, Chilling Forensic and Utility Records Reveal

In a tragic and deeply unsettling development, Pakistani actress and social media influencer Humaira Asghar Ali is believed to have died nearly nine months ago, well before her highly decomposed body was discovered in her Karachi apartment on Wednesday.

New details reported by Arab Media have revealed a disturbing timeline based on call records, utility disconnections, food expiry, and medical findings—all indicating that Humaira may have passed away sometime in October 2024.

According to Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, who conducted the post-mortem examination, the body was in a very advanced stage of decomposition, far beyond the one-month estimate initially reported.

A forensic review of her phone activity showed that Humaira’s mobile phone was last used in October 2024, while her final social media post dates back to September. This aligns with accounts from neighbors who said she was last seen between September and October last year.

Police officials investigating the case disclosed that electricity to her flat was cut off in October 2024 due to non-payment of bills. The apartment had no power, no candles, and dry water taps, strongly indicating it had been uninhabited for months.

“She probably died between her last utility bill payment and the disconnection of electricity, which occurred in October,” one official said.

Another officer added, “The food in her home had long expired, jars were rusted, and nothing had been used in months.” The absence of any foul smell complaints by neighbors was attributed to the fact that hers was the only occupied flat on that floor.

In an emotionally charged turn, Humaira’s family had severed ties with her more than two years ago. Her father, Dr. Asghar Ali, a retired army doctor, refused to claim the body when informed by the police. “We have cut off ties with her. Do what you want with the body, we will not receive it,” he reportedly told investigators.

Her brother Naveed Asghar said she last visited the family 1.5 years ago and had remained distant ever since.

Humaira Asghar, 32, had lived alone in her Karachi apartment for the past seven years, after relocating from Lahore. Known for her appearances in TV dramas and for her TikTok and Instagram content, she was largely reclusive outside of work.

Despite her modest fame, her death went unnoticed for months. Only after court officials arrived to deliver a legal notice regarding pending rent did they suspect something was wrong, leading to police intervention and the tragic discovery of her remains on July 9, 2025.

As of now, the cause of death remains undetermined. The forensic state of her body has made it difficult to conclude whether she died of natural causes, suicide, or foul play. Police have stated that investigations are ongoing.

The case has sparked widespread grief and conversation across Pakistan about mental health, isolation, and societal neglect, especially in the lives of public figures who appear to be thriving online but suffer silently in private.
