A wave of panic swept through Chintapalli village in the Tiryani mandal of Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district after villagers spotted a leopard sitting atop a tree. The villagers quickly captured videos of the leopard, which caused widespread alarm. Concerned about the animal’s presence near residential areas, the villagers contacted local authorities.
Forest officer Srinivas responded by confirming that forest staff had been dispatched to the area. They collected leopard pugmarks as evidence and advised villagers to stay clear of the nearby forest area for safety. The leopard sighting has raised concerns about the increasing interactions between wildlife and human settlements in the region.
Meanwhile, another incident involving a large tiger added to the growing unease in the surrounding areas. A tiger was reported to have attacked a wild boar in a cotton field near the Kannal village in Bellampally mandal, Mancherial district. The tiger, believed to be roaming the forested regions of Kannal and the nearby Rajeshwara Swamy temple, created significant panic when it was seen drinking water from a pond near the village.

The tiger continued its movement across the region, being spotted in the Niligiri forest near Kunta Ramula Bastis before heading toward the mango orchards in Peddanapalli. The Bellampally Range Forest officials confirmed the tiger’s movements, noting that it was most likely the B-2 tiger. Initially, it was assumed that the tiger had left the Kannal forest, but sightings and evidence suggest it was still in the area.
On Saturday, the tiger was found feeding on the wild boar in a cotton field, raising further concerns about its proximity to human settlements. Local forest officials are monitoring the situation closely and have urged villagers to stay vigilant. The increasing frequency of wildlife sightings in populated areas has prompted calls for greater awareness and safety measures to mitigate potential human-wildlife conflicts.
