Hyderabad: The State Government has issued orders with regard to payment of increased pensions to beneficiaries from June and effective from July. With this as many as 39 lakh pensioners will be benefited.
The TRS government has kept its promise to hike the pensions and issued orders. While normal pensioners will get Rs 2016 from Rs 1,000, physically disabled will get Rs 3,016 from Rs 1,500. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced pension hike recently and now the decks have been cleared by the government. The officials have made all arrangements for the same to ensure that the pensioners get hiked amount from July.
The KCR government offered allocations in this regard during vote-on-account budget. The government has also taken a significant decision to reduce age limit for pensioners to 57 years from previous 65 years. With the age reduction another seven lakh new pensioners will add to the existing ones. According to the information, a total of Rs 12,067 crore required for disbursing the increased amounts to all pensioners. (NSS)
