New Delhi: BJP Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasihma Rao today alleged that people of Andhra Pradesh were being misled by propagating false information on the Central government.
Participating in a short debate on Special Category Status (SCS) to AP and implementation of A P Re-organization Act in Rajya sabha, the BJP member said political parties have indulged in spreading false information for their political mileage on the issue of SCS to AP. He said funds and projects have been cleared to AP State by BJP-led NDA government.
Rao said Modi government is extending all support to A P government for development of the state. Even A P assembly has passed a resolution welcoming the special financial package and accepted it saying that the package has more benefits comparing to SCS. But some parties are provoking people in the name of SCS, he said. Stating that the A P government would get Rs 22,130 crore in five years under revenue deficit, the TDP government has taken U turn here, he said.
Rao stated that the State government has acquired only 2,000 acres of land in Krishnapatnam for Bangalore-Chennai corridor whereas the project needs 12,000 acres of land. He said five Industrial cities would be developed under Industrial corridor. Describing Polavaram project as Modi’varam, a boon of Modi for A P and funds are being released by the Union government for its development. Under Pradhan Matri Avas Yojana and the Centre has sanctioned Rs 7.42 lakh houses.
