Police deny permission to Congress party’s chalo Raj Bhavan program

The City police today denied permission to the Chalo Raj Bhavan protest program of the Congress party. However, it has allowed the party to hold the protest program at Indira park with just 200 activists.

The police have also arrested several party leaders at their residences and did not allow them to take part in the protest program.

However, some Congress party activists managed to reach Raj Bhavan and staged the protest program demanding the union government to roll back the increased petrol, diesel, and gas prices.  They also locked up the main gate of the Raj Bhavan as part of their protest program.

Speaking on the issue, TPCC Vice President Mallu Ravi Condemned the arrest the party leaders and activists and termed them undemocratic. He also expressed is anger over the arrests of the Party activists from various districts.

Former TPCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah alleged that both PM Narendra Modi and CM KCR were twin thieves. He also alleged that CM KCR was supporting PM Modi by arresting them. He asked the CM as to why his party was not raising the issue of the fuel price hike in parliament.

The Party MLA Seethakka said that the steep increase in the petrol and diesel prices were impacting the lives of the poor people of the state. She also said that there was no control of the government over the prices of essential commodities. She alleged that the state and the Central government had looted Rs.35 lakh crore from the people of the country in the form of taxes.

Another MLA Jagga Reddy said that the police would not give permission to them to hold protest programs on public problems. He alleged that the same police was giving permission to the ruling TRS party leaders to hold meetings with thousands of people. He alleged that some police officers were working only to suppress the congress party and its leaders.
