The arrival of a big quantity of pomegranates in the city has resulted in a dramatic decline in the fruit’s price. Pomegranates are now being sold for roughly Rs 15 per, down from Rs 30 two weeks ago.
Pomegranates primarily arrive in Hyderabad from Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. Furthermore, they are farmed in Telangana. Pomegranates are commonly grown in Maharashtra, particularly in Jalna, Sangli, Sholapur, Aurangabad, Pune, Ahmednagar, and Washi. They are farmed in Karnataka in places like Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Bengaluru Rural, Belagavi, and Bagalkot. Farmers gather the fruit and deliver it to Hyderabad’s Batasingaram market.

Because of this year’s bumper harvest, local dealers believe that prices will fall even more. Because of its claimed therapeutic benefits, the fruit is in considerable demand among the general public.
Pomegranates are sold at wholesale markets in boxes containing 50 to 100 fruits. These cartons are then given to local vendors, who resell the fruit to retail buyers. Pomegranates normally arrive in large quantities beginning in July, with supply growing from the first week of August and lasting for another two to three months.
