Pushpa 2 Box-Office Collections Under Scrutiny Amid IT Raids

The recent Income Tax (IT) raids on prominent figures in the Telugu film industry, including the production house Mythri Movie Makers, producer Dil Raju, and director Sukumar, have raised questions about the box-office collections of recent films, particularly Pushpa 2 and Game Changer. While there is still no official word on the exact reasons behind the IT raids, reports suggest that the investigations have focused on inflated collection claims made by the producers of Pushpa 2.

According to sources, the makers of Pushpa 2 had claimed that the film had crossed the Rs 1800 crore mark within just four weeks of release. This figure was widely circulated on their official social media channels. However, IT officials reportedly scrutinized the GST payments associated with these collections and found discrepancies. Some reports suggest that the producers admitted to inflating the collections by Rs 400 to Rs 500 crore, positioning Pushpa 2 as the highest-grossing film in India. The producers allegedly presented these inflated figures as part of an advertising strategy, not as actual earnings.

As a result, the IT officials are said to have grilled the producers and demanded access to all accounts and financial records related to Pushpa 2 to determine the authenticity of the reported collections. The raid has raised further speculation and concerns regarding the credibility of the film’s financial claims.

Meanwhile, producer Dil Raju, who has been under investigation for his involvement with the high-budget film Game Changer, was also questioned about the reported collections for the film. Despite Game Changer being a commercial failure, a poster claiming the film had earned Rs 400 crore was circulating. Dil Raju clarified that the poster was not issued by his production house but instead by the actor’s team.

As rumors about the Pushpa 2 box-office collections continue to circulate on social media and the internet, the producers have yet to clear the air. The ongoing IT investigation will likely shed more light on the situation, and it remains to be seen whether the reported collections are genuine or inflated.

The entertainment industry and fans are eagerly awaiting the completion of the IT officials’ work, hoping for clarity on the authenticity of the box-office claims.
