Hyderabad: AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi today exuded confidence saying that the Congress party will come to power in the State and at the Centre in the coming elections. He assured the women that their governments will revive Abhaya Hastam Pension Scheme and 25 paisa interest loans to Self Help Groups after coming to power. He said the Congress party alone knows as to how to do the development of women. Rahul Gandhi, as part of his two-day tour in Telangana State, participated in the interaction session with Self Help Groups (SHGs) women at Classic Convention Centre at Shamshabad here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Gandhi criticized state and central governments in his own style. He alleged that the NDA government waived off Rs.2.5 lakh crore of 15 industrialists within two years after coming to power. But the same NDA government failed to waive off the loans of farmers and SHGs. He opined that the women should be developed politically and economically if nation wanted to move forward.
He said that the Congress party will give loans to DWKRA women if they come to power. He said that they will encourage DWKRA Group women to achieve empowerment so that they will provide jobs to unemployed youth. Exuding confidence that the Congress party will come to power in state and centre, Rahul alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao were declining to give loans to farmers and women.
Reminding that the Modi government announced demonetization on November 8, 2016 making the people of the nation to stand in the queues before the banks for hours, Rahul said that absurd assets worth Rs.12 lakh were remained in the banks. Modi, who assured before elections that he will wage movement against black money, pulled the money of people from their pockets and deposited them in banks, he pointed out. Modi was giving the common peoples’ money saved in the banks to the industrialists in the form of subsidies, he said.
Ridiculing GST, Rahul Gandhi said that GST doesn’t mean Goods and Services Tax but it was Gabbar Singh Tax. He said that there would be uniform tax if the Congress comes to power and made it clear that the Congress party will show what GST means. He alleged that both the state and central governments were neglecting women totally and were trying to confine the women to kitchen. About 10,000 SHG women were participated in the interaction session with Rahul Gandhi. (NSS)
