Raja Singh Calls for Relocation of Numaish to Address Traffic and Safety Concerns

BJP MLA Raja Singh from Goshamahal has raised significant concerns about the annual Numaish exhibition held at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad. The prominent leader pointed out that the exhibition, located in the heart of the city, causes severe traffic congestion due to the thousands of visitors it attracts every year. He emphasized that the congestion often results in hours of delay in vehicle movement, creating major inconveniences for the public.

Raja Singh also recalled past incidents of fire outbreaks during the exhibition, warning that the limited space of the venue increases the potential for more extensive damage in case of such accidents. He called for the event to be relocated to a larger area outside the city to avoid such risks.

In his remarks, Raja Singh urged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to arrange for the exhibition to be held on 100 to 200 acres of land located outside Hyderabad. He also raised concerns about the high parking charges at the exhibition, describing the 150-rupee fee as unreasonable. He alleged widespread corruption in the allocation of parking spaces and questioned whether any tender process had been followed for these charges.

The BJP MLA further pointed out that the district collector had not consulted him regarding the parking fees, adding that the organizers should offer free parking for visitors. He argued that charging parking fees on government land was inappropriate and called on the government to provide free parking on public land for the event.

This call for change is being seen as an important step in addressing both the logistical and safety challenges associated with the Numaish exhibition, ensuring a better experience for the citizens of Hyderabad.
