Hyderabad: There is good news for all the grand alliance partners. The intervention of the Congress high command and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu yielded results in the withdrawal of nomination forms by all rebel candidates of the two political parties.
In the fresh development, rebel candidate from Congress party from Sherilingampally Assembly constituency M. Bikshapati Yadav, who filed his nomination from the same constituency yesterday, agreed to withdraw his papers following the intervention party leaders. The Congress high command leaders, led by Ahmed Patel, former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy and TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy called on Bhikshapathi Yadav at his residence and urged him to withdraw his nomination form. They also told Bhikshapathi that he would be rewarded with a cabinet rank post after formation of party government in the State. As a result, the rebel former MLA agreed to withdraw his papers.
Movva relents, made party spokesperson
Similarly, TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu met with party’s rebel leader Movva Satyanarayana at Amaravathi, who filed his nomination papers as a rebel candidate from the constituency, appointed him as an official spokesperson of the party. The appointment letter was handed over to Satyanarayana on the spot by Chandrababu Naidu. He also assured him that he would take care of the future of the rebel leader.
Accordingly, Satyanarayana withdrew his nomination papers from the seat. Another TDP leader, Sama Ranga Reddy, who was fielded from Ibrahimpatnam seat by the TDP leadership, has decided to withdraw his nomination form the LB Nagar Assembly constituency following the intervention of Naidu. On the other hand, the Congress leaders also met with the party rebel candidates from Secunderabad Assembly segment like Palle Laxman Rao Goud and Adam Uma Devi and asked them to withdraw their nomination papers while assuring them of great future ahead.
This has prompted them to change their mind and withdraw their nomination paper. On the other hand, the party leadership was also trying to convince another rebel leader and former GHMC Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy to withdraw her nomination form from the same seat. (NSS)
