Return seven Khammam mandals to TS: Vinod argues in Parliament

Hyderabad: TRS MP B Vinod Kumar today sought the Centre give back 7 mandals to Telangana state which were forcibly merged into Andhra Pradesh State from Khammam district after bifurcation. He made this appeal during a debate on “No Trust” Motion in Parliament by the TD initiated by MP Galla Jayadev. He demanded the house to move a bill to merge back the 7 mandals into Telangana state. The MP accused the Centre of deliberately failing to keep the promises of AP Bifurcation Act. Without the consent of Telangana the BJP led government at the Centre has merged its 7 mandals into Andhra Pradesh he fumed. He also flayed the Centre for not taking calls on giving national status to Kaleshwaram project.

The Centre should accord national status to Kaleshwaram and offer funds for it he said. None of the bifurcation promises were fulfilled so far due to negligence of the Centre including high court and others he said. He alleged that AP Government is not taking steps for setting up its own High Court in the state as the BJP led NDA Government is still to take a final call. The Centre is still remaining inconclusive on Bayyaram Steel Factory in Khammam district, did not take steps for Tribal varsity he said. He also said that immediate steps have to be taken on the demands for National Thermal Power Project, National Highways whose works are partially complete. (NSS
