Revanth Accuses BRS of Political Suicide to Secure BJP’s Victory

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy accused the BRS of aiding the BJP’s victories in Telangana, alleging that they sacrificed their own interests for the BJP’s gains. He claimed that the BJP’s vote share increased from 20% to 35%, winning eight Lok Sabha seats in 2024 compared to four in 2019. According to him, the BRS lost deposits in seven Lok Sabha seats won by the BJP, indicating their support for the latter.

Revanth Reddy further accused the BRS leadership of transferring votes to the BJP in Siddipet Assembly constituency, facilitating the victory of BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao over the weaker section candidate of the Congress, allegedly with Harish’s assistance. He criticized KCR for allegedly deceiving the BRS candidate Venkat Ram Reddy and asserted that the BRS played a significant role in securing victories for the BJP in seven Lok Sabha seats.

Regarding the BRS’s performance in elections, Revanth Reddy noted a decrease in their vote share from 37.5% in Assembly elections to 16.5% in Lok Sabha elections. He criticized KCR, KTR, and Harish for allegedly compromising the BRS MLAs’ self-respect for political gain and accused KCR of harming his own party by transferring votes to the BJP.

Revanth Reddy urged the BRS to change its political approach, claiming that Harish had acted against the interests of the Congress, which could lead to the eventual disappearance of the BRS. He also commented on defections, advising BRS MLAs to follow their conscience and accusing KCR of engaging in political manipulation.

On the national front, Revanth Reddy criticized the BJP’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections, stating that the people had rejected Modi’s leadership. He called for Modi’s resignation, alleging undemocratic behavior by the BJP and drawing parallels with the defeat of the BJP in Faizabad constituency.

Regarding the Congress’s performance, Revanth Reddy highlighted the party’s achievements in the Assembly elections and the implementation of its guarantees in the state government. He emphasized Rahul’s efforts in uniting democratic forces and reiterated the Congress’s commitment to addressing bifurcation issues and granting special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
