Hyderabad : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Revanth Reddy has approached the State High Court seeking additional security, saying that he is facing threat to his life from his political rivals and also certain anti-social elements. He pointed out, in his petition, that the State government has not responded to his request on providing security against threats from certain political rivals. He appealed to the Court to give him security cover from personnel of Central government or some independent agency. The Kodangal MLA mentioned Union Home Secretary, Telangana Chief Secretary and Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Telangana, Chief Election Commissioner, Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana, DGP and Vikarabad SP as defendants.
The Court directed the Union Government and the Election Commission to respond on the petition of Revanth and posted the matter for Thursday. (NSS)
