On Saturday, Congress Telangana chief A. Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that the Karnataka election results would be repeated in Telangana.
He said the Congress victory in Karnataka would not be limited to that state. “It will be in Telangana tomorrow, and then the Congress flag will be hoisted on the Red Fort,” Reddy told reporters.
He claimed that, inspired by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo’ message, the people of Karnataka rejected the BJP’s politics of hatred. “This verdict will bring a tsunami in the country to change its politics,” he said.
Revanth Reddy also stated that voters rejected Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao by rejecting the Janata Dal-Secular
He claimed that by supporting the JD-S, KCR was hoping to profit politically from Karnataka’s political instability.
He demanded that KCR respond to reports that the BJP is negotiating with the JD-S. “Since KCR supported JD-S, we are demanding that he speak out on what should be the stand of the JD-S,” he said.
Revanth Reddy, who is also a Member of Parliament, claimed that the BJP, which had been misusing the name of Sri Ram, realized it was no longer useful to them and thus began doing politics under the name of Bajrang Bali. “They have now realised that Bajrang Bali will not bless a party which insulted Sri Ram,” he said.
He stated that, at the very least, now that people have rejected the politics of communalism and voted for harmony, welfare, and development, the BJP should stop using religion for political purposes and tell people how it intends to move the country forward.
He alleged that the BJP captured power in nine states by causing a split among other parties and buying MLAs, but that the people of Karnataka foiled its plans by giving a clear mandate for the Congress.
Revanth Reddy said the Karnataka results will undoubtedly have an impact elsewhere. “BJP has no place in South India. People here have rejected both Modi and the BJP,” he said.
