Revenue department will remain intact, CM KCR

Hyderabad: The Chief Minister of the state K Chandrasekhar Rao today quashed the reports that they would abolish the entire revenue department as part of their proposed reforms.

He made it clear that the state government had decided to abolish the VRO posts and not the entire revenue department. He made these remarks while replying to a question raised by CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka during the debate held on the new revenue bill proposed Telangana Rights in Land and Pattadar Passbooks bill 2020.

Vikramarka urged the CM to continue the VRO posts. Replying to this, CM KCR said that the present VRO system was creating havoc in the society prompting them to Abolish it completely.

He said that the revenue department has all kinds of revenue records and added that the land survey and settlement department would also be there. He said that none should face problems. Commenting on the acquisition of assigned lands, CM KCR made it clear that the state government was acquiring the assigned lands to take up public projects and added that they were not acquiring the lands like the erstwhile Congress party government.
