Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) has drawn sharp criticism online for an inappropriate and sexist remark he made in reference to Kiara Advani’s bikini appearance in the teaser of War 2. His now-deleted social media post was widely condemned for objectifying the actress and trivializing the film.
The teaser of War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, was released on Tuesday and created significant buzz. However, RGV’s comment overshadowed the excitement. Sharing a still of Kiara in a bikini, he wrote:
“Instead of our countries and societies, if the war between Hrithik and Jr NTR is on who gets her bk, then 2 will be a b*buster.”
The remark was met with immediate outrage across platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit. Netizens slammed Varma for his crass language and repeated history of making controversial comments about women. One user remarked, “What the actual f*,”* while another said, “Can you imagine what he is like in private?” Others labelled him a “creepazoid” and accused him of “reaching new sleazy levels.”

Faced with mounting backlash, RGV deleted the post but has not issued any public apology or clarification. Meanwhile, Kiara Advani maintained a dignified silence on the controversy and instead expressed joy over her War 2 debut.
In her Instagram Story, she wrote: “Lots of firsts in this. First YRF film. First action film. First with these two amazing heroes. First collaboration with Ayan. And of course, first bikini shot.” Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is part of the YRF Spy Universe and marks Kiara’s first major foray into high-octane action.
