Mumbai: Oil to telecom major Reliance Industries (RIL) on Thursday surpassed the Rs 10-lakh-crore in market capitalization, becoming the first Indian company to do so.
RIL hit its 52-week high on the BSE at Rs 1,581.25 a share, rising 0.64 percent. While RIL gained nearly 40 percent during the last year, the Nifty50 index advanced over 13 percent.
Reliance is followed by TCS as the second most valued firm. HDFC Bank, Hindustan Uniliver and HDFC were the others.
Among RIL’s big-ticket announcements was its aims to be net debt-free by the end of the financial year ending March 202.
The company had also announced selling a 20 percent stake in its refining and petrochemical business to Saudi Aramco.
