Hyderabad: Giving sops to Gadwal with 300 bed hospital as part of Gattu Lift Irrigation Project and Tummilla lift scheme, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today reiterated to make unrelenting efforts as Yaganam to bring under irrigation a total of one crore acres lands over a period. Naming Gattu as Nalla Somanadri lift project, KCR said it will irrigate a total of 87500 acres in the area by Dasara.
Addressing a public meeting, he attracted the crowds by stating that entire area in Gadwal district will be turned like East Godavari district with lush greenery and water resources in a few months. “We plan to lift 4 tmc waters if the people give more lands for lifting more waters by getting better compensation. Effective coordination by the officials will complete the works and the projects”, he announced much to the delight of the people.
The Chief Minister also slammed the past governments for neglecting irrigation, agriculture and other sectors and adding to the woes of the people migrating to other States for livelihood. KCR was critical that the Congress leaders were moving courts against completion of the irrigation projects.
KCR’s sops include Rs 100 cr for development of Gadwal segment, SC Study Circle, tribal gurukul, Residential school in Gadwal, Rs 2 cr for bus stand, Rs 15 cr for Brindavan near Jurala dam, Rs 8 cr for Gurram Gadda bridge and 119 more BC Gurukul Schools next year and 584 mandals will get BC Gurukul Schools.
Stating that he is a farmer and aware of related problems, KCR appealed to old Palamur district leaders to have a look at the welfare schemes launched by the TRS Government. KCR flayed former CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s jibe of gloom on achieving statehood. “We have surpassed power crisis and now the Telangana State shines in complete power supply. The government will issue all orders on June 30 to develop Gadwal and nearby areas on par with other districts to get rid of perennial problems like drought and poverty”, he said.
