Rs 1,000 Crore should be new box office standard: Salman khan

Salman Khan, eagerly anticipating the release of his upcoming spy thriller “Tiger 3,” recently made headlines during the trailer launch event of Gippy Grewal’s Punjabi film, “Maujan Hi Maujan.” At the event, the actor made a bold statement, declaring that achieving Rs 100 crore at the box office has become the new baseline for films.

In a viral video from the trailer launch of “Maujaan Hi Maujaan,” Salman Khan asserted, “I think the Rs100 crore mark is going to be rock bottom now. Everything would be Rs 400-500-600 plus now for the Punjabi industry, Hindi industry, every industry.”

He went on to raise the bar even higher, stating, “Even Marathi films are achieving these numbers. Rs100 crore is not going to be a very big deal. I think the benchmark should be Rs1000 crore for a film right now.”

Directed by Smeep Kang, “Maujaan Hi Maujaan” features Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, Tanu Grewal, Karamjit Anmol, Jimmy Sharma, and Harsheen Chauhan in pivotal roles. The film revolves around the journey of three brothers and one sister who find love while dealing with societal stigma due to their disabilities. “Maujaan Hi Maujaan” is set to hit theaters on October 20.

In the midst of these developments, Salman Khan’s last release, “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan,” failed to make a mark at the box office. However, the actor is now eagerly awaiting the release of “Tiger 3,” a highly anticipated spy thriller directed by Maneesh Sharma. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi, with the added excitement of a cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan. “Tiger 3” is slated for a festive Diwali release on November 12.

Furthermore, Salman Khan’s fans can look forward to his return as the host of the new season of “Bigg Boss.” The promo for the show has already generated significant buzz among netizens, who are eagerly awaiting the new season’s premiere.
