Vijayawada: The officials of the transport department of the State have issued orders for the seizure of 154 buses belonging to JC travels, which is owned by the JC brothers of the state.
Revealing the details about the seizure, the joint commissioner of the department Prasad Rao said that the company had registered 154 BS-3 buses in an illegal manner. He said that the company had registered 50 buses in the name of Jatadhara industries and 104 buses in the name of C. Gopal Reddy. He also said that 33 buses of the travels were registered in Karnataka state, 15 in Telangana and 101 buses in AP.
Rao said that they had already registered 27 FIRs in Anantapur district and 3 FIRs in Kurnool district. He also said that they had written a letter to the central government to blacklist all the buses in the online database and added that they had urged the center to issue orders to all the states to seize the vehicles wherever they were found operating across the country. He further said that they had asked insurance companies to update the details of the buses in their national database.
Rao said that they had canceled the registration of 80 buses in Anantapur district, 5 each in Kurnool and Chittoor, and 3 in Kadapa district. He said that they had postponed the cancellation of the registration of the vehicles in the Nellore district due to pending court cases. He said that they had seized 62 buses so far and added that they were yet to seize another 39 vehicles.
