Acclaimed filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently made a revelation at the grand event for his upcoming film Thandel in Hyderabad, stating that actress Sai Pallavi was his first choice for Arjun Reddy. However, he claimed that he had to drop the idea after someone, allegedly posing as her manager, informed him that she would not wear sleeveless outfits.
Following the statement making headlines, Sai Pallavi responded to Vanga’s remark in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Gulte. The Fidaa actress clarified that she never had a manager at the time and had no knowledge of who might have misled the filmmaker.
“I did not have a manager, and I do not know who fooled you by pretending to be my manager. I think Arjun Reddy is a completely beautiful movie just the way it is. Shalini (Pandey) has done a phenomenal job, and Vijay (Deverakonda) has also done a great job. The movie had everything it needed. They were meant to do it,” she said.
Despite the past misunderstanding, Sai Pallavi expressed admiration for Vanga, praising his unfiltered approach to storytelling. She remarked, “I believe every director should have a voice, and Sandeep remains unfiltered both on and off-screen. It is refreshing to see someone who, despite being influenced by various factors, stays true to himself.”
Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi is gearing up for the release of Thandel, in which she stars alongside Naga Chaitanya. The much-anticipated film is set to hit theatres on February 7. Her most recent outing was Amaran, in which she starred opposite Sivakarthikeyan. While her performance in the film was appreciated, some critics noted that her Malayalam pronunciation distracted from an otherwise emotional portrayal.
Sai Pallavi’s response to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s remarks has garnered significant attention, sparking discussions about casting decisions in the industry and the importance of direct communication between actors and filmmakers. With Thandel around the corner, fans are eager to see the actress shine once again on the big screen.
