Saidabad recorded highest rainfall during the last 24 hours

As the torrential showers lashing the city for almost two weeks and more explicitly since Friday night, nearly 15 areas of the city experienced heavy to moderate impact of the rains during the last twenty-four hours.

According to official statistics, out of 15 areas of Hyderabad city – where the rains has leaves a mixed impact during the last 24 hours, the Saidabad area of old city recorded a highest 122.2 millimeter of rainfall followed by Shaikhpet (89.0mm), Nampally (75.8) and Amberpet 75.3mm.

Other areas such as Tirumalgiri (17mm), Secunderabad (46.8), Khairatabad (30.3), Maredpally (55.5), Musheerabad (61), Himayathnagar (35.0), Golkonda (55.8), Asifnagar (63.6), Bahadurpura (19.5), Chaminar (26.6) and Bandlaguda (12.3) receives light to moderate rainfalls since Friday night.

While Saidabad recorded the highest 122.2mm rainfall since Friday, Bandlaguda area receives the least amount of 12.3mm rains during the same period.

According to sources, the rain gauge data was collected and recorded at Automated Weather Stations (AWSs) of Indian Meteorological Department positioned at the above said locations to monitor weather conditions and rainfall in the city.

The average rainfall data is prepared taking into account all the available rainfall observations in each mandal of total 592 mandals across the state. Using these averaged daily data (being measured in every 24 hours i.e. from 08:30 a.m. of previous day to 08:30 a.m. next day), monthly rainfall series of each station/mandal are computed.
