While celebrating the ‘National Science Day’ on Monday to commemorate the renowned Indian Scientist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman for his remarkable discovery of ‘The Raman Effect’ in the year 1928, the NAARM Rajendranagar mark the event by attributing it to the main theme of the year that squarely speaks about ‘Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future.”
While asserting that the integrated approach of science and technology is the mantra of the research worldwide,” Dr G. Venkateswarlu, Joint Director, National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), during her speech said that “The society cannot head to progress unless there are collective efforts put in play by the scientific fraternity. He urged students to “learn to click and click to learn” in science with profound interest in order to hit a bulls eye while pursuing career goals.
While chinning up the students referring the eminent Indian scientists who haved contributed immensely in agriculture and other sectors, Dr.Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, NAARM, explained how agricultural engineering, farm mechanization and food processing is collectively gaining importance in the country. While emphasizing the importance of the day and how the science and technology played a crucial role in addressing the recently swarmed covid pandemic, he draws the attention towards the journey of Bharath Biotech Company and the subsequent development of indigenous vaccine.
There is no life without science, he said, requesting the students to develop scientific temperament to achieve big. Nutritional food requirement especially for women, less usage of plastic, Swachch Bharath are other important aspects he pored over while addressing the students.
Around 200 undergraduate and postgraduate Science and Engineering students from Gurunanak Institute of Technology, Sardar Patel College, Bharath Institute of Technology, Sidhartha Institute of Technology and Science, J.B. Institute of Engineering and Technology, Spoorthi College of Engineering, KPR Institute of Technology participated in the valedictory celebrations at NAARM. The students visited to other ICAR institutes in Rajendranagar like IIMR, IIOR, IIRR, and IIPR, etc. Samskuthi Foundation, headed by Dr Ravindrababu, collaborated with all the colleges and facilitated the visits. The event was coordinated by Mrs G. Aneeja, PRO, NAARM.
