SCR to Run Special Trains for Festival Season

To manage the anticipated rush of passengers during Ganesh Nimajjanam (idol immersion), the South Central Railway (SCR) has announced eight special Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) trains to run across various destinations in Hyderabad and Secunderabad during the intervening night of September 17 and 18, 2024. This move comes as part of SCR’s efforts to ease the flow of devotees and ensure smooth transit during the festivities.

Train No. **GHL-5** (Hyderabad to Lingampalli) will depart from Hyderabad station at **11:10 PM** on September 17 and is expected to reach Lingampalli at **11:55 PM**. Meanwhile, Train No. **GSH-1** (Secunderabad to Hyderabad) will leave Secunderabad at **11:50 PM**, arriving in Hyderabad at **12:20 AM** on the same night.

In the early hours of September 18, Train No. **GLF-6** (Lingampalli to Falaknuma) will depart at **12:10 AM**, arriving at Falaknuma at **1:50 AM**. Similarly, Train No. **GHL-2** (Hyderabad to Lingampalli) will start from Hyderabad at **12:30 AM**, reaching Lingampalli by **1:20 AM**.

Train No. **GLH-3** (Lingampalli to Hyderabad) will run at **1:50 AM**, reaching Hyderabad at **2:40 AM** on September 18. Train No. **GFS-7** (Falaknuma to Secunderabad) will begin its journey at **2:20 AM**, reaching Secunderabad by **3:00 AM**.

Later in the morning, Train No. **GHS-4** (Hyderabad to Secunderabad) will depart at **3:30 AM**, reaching its destination at **4:00 AM**. The final special MMTS, Train No. **GSH-8** (Secunderabad to Hyderabad), will leave Secunderabad at **4:00 AM**, arriving in Hyderabad by **4:40 AM**.

In addition to the Ganesh Nimajjanam services, SCR has also announced 12 special train services between **Secunderabad and Srikakulam Road** to accommodate the extra passenger demand during the upcoming Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath festivals. These services will commence from **October 2** and continue until **November 7, 2024**.

Train No. **07487** (Secunderabad to Srikakulam Road) will run every **Wednesday**, from October 2 to November 6. On the return leg, Train No. **07488** (Srikakulam Road to Secunderabad) will operate every **Thursday**, from October 3 to November 7. A total of 12 services will run in both directions.

These special trains will make stops at **Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Nadikude, Piduguralla, Sattenapalle, Guntur, Vijayawada, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Nidadavolu, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Annavaram, Elamanchili, Anakapalli, Duvvada, Pendurthi, Kothavalasa, Vizianagaram**, and **Chipurupalli** stations on their route.

The South Central Railway continues to take proactive steps in catering to the needs of passengers, especially during peak festive times. By introducing additional trains for both Ganesh Nimajjanam and key national festivals, SCR aims to provide enhanced convenience and ensure that devotees and travelers can reach their destinations without undue delays.
