CV Anand, the City Commissioner of Police (CP), declared that 1587 voting stations in the Hyderabad district have been designated as crucial polling stations in advance of the November 30 Telangana Assembly elections.
Hyderabad police have requested the aid of 32 central forces companies to guarantee the smooth conduct of the elections. For monitoring, integrated checkpoints will be set up across the city. Various authorities would monitor the situation around the clock, including the commercial tax department, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the Road Transport Authority (RTA), excise, and drugs agencies. CCTV cameras will be deployed near liquor stores to monitor activity and deter illicit acts.
Anand underlined the importance of scrutinizing significant money transfers, forcing persons to present required documentation and explain the purpose of the monies. Accounts with big money transactions that exceed the limit will be scrutinized.
Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner D Ronald Rose revealed that 90 flying squads are operating, each consisting of an executive magistrate, a senior police officer, three armed police personnel, and a videographer. These squads will look into Model Code of Conduct (MCC) infractions, election expenditure, intimidation complaints, anti-social element movement, liquor, guns, and big quantities of money, among other things.
