Television anchor Shilpa Chakraborty has forged a strong connection with Hyderabad, the city she now calls home. Originally from Kolkata, Shilpa moved to Hyderabad in the early 1990s when her family settled here, and since then, the city has shaped both her personal and professional life.
In a recent interview, Shilpa shared her journey of making Hyderabad her own. “Though I am from Kolkata, I feel much more connected to Hyderabad. The warmth and hospitality here are like no other,” she said. Her bond with the city deepened during her school years, where she formed lasting friendships and a deep sense of belonging.
Acknowledging the evolution of the city, Shilpa pointed to its cleanliness and cosmopolitan culture. While traffic congestion has increased, she believes the city has managed to retain its charm. Shilpa credits the people of Hyderabad for helping her adapt to the Telugu media industry. “The people here were incredibly supportive when I was learning Telugu. They welcomed me with all my imperfections,” she recalled.
