In a tragic incident, a woman lost her life, and several others fell seriously ill after consuming momos from a street food stall on Banjara Hills Road No. 10. Following the incident, the Banjara Hills police have arrested six individuals responsible for running the stall.
The arrest came after a complaint was filed by the family of the deceased, identified as Reshma Begum, a resident of Singadi Basthi. According to the police report, Reshma Begum and her daughter had visited the market on October 28 and, on their way back, bought momos from a stall. Upon consuming the momos, the family members reportedly experienced severe symptoms, including diarrhea and vomiting. They were rushed to NIMS Hospital, where Reshma was declared dead upon arrival, while other family members were admitted for treatment.
The complainant alleged that the accused—identified as Almas, Sajid Hussain, Md. Raees, Md. Sharukh, Md. Haneef, and Md. Rajik, all residents of Khairatabad and natives of Kishanganj District, Bihar—had adulterated the momos, leading to severe health complications and the tragic outcome.

The investigation and arrests were conducted under the direct supervision of S. Venkat Reddy, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Banjara Hills Division, with the assistance of KM Raghavendra, Inspector of Police; S.M. Basheer Ahmed, Detective Inspector of Police; V. Rambabu, Sub-Inspector of Police; and P. Ravinder, Sub-Inspector of Banjara Hills Police Station.
The incident has raised concerns about food safety in the area, and authorities have promised strict action to ensure public health standards at street food outlets.
