Son-in-law, seven accomplices nabbed for dacoity in in-laws house in Trimulgherry

Hyderabad: The North Zone Task Force on Friday solved a dacoity case that occurred in Trimulgherry five days ago and arrested eight persons, including a woman.
The stolen property — 30 tolas of gold, 450g of silver — a car, three daggers and other material were recovered in tact. The arrested were Syed Jameel and Syed Mujeeb, both brothers, Shaik Abdul Saleem, Mohd Imran, Mohd Ismail, Mohd Adnan, Mohd Zameer and Bibi Begum alias Reshma.

According to the police, Jameel is the son-in-law of Iqbal Begum (65), who was injured in the dacoity and later died in hospital. He is an auto-rickshaw driver and was debt-ridden, following which he plotted to loot his mother-in-law.

City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said a couple of days before the loot, Jameel had told his younger brother Mujeeb, who is a suspect in a murder case in Sanathnagar, about the plan. The latter accepted it immediately. “Mujeeb further contacted other persons and told them about the plot and they gathered at Mujeeb’s house in Bachupally for discussions. They all procured face masks, cellotape, daggers and a rope as well for the loot,” Anjani Kumar said.

On October 1, they assembled at the house of Shamsunnisa, the complainant, near the Football Ground in Trimulgherry while she and her mother-in-law Iqbal Begum were present. “They called them and when the door was opened, Imran, Ismail, Adnan Zameer and Reshma entered the house while others were waiting outside in a car. Jameel did not enter the house as he would be identified easily,” the Commissioner said. “They threatened and beat them to keep quiet before tying them up and gagging them. They decamped with the ornaments worn by them as well as from the almirah,” he said. The gang was caught while they were trying to dispose of the stolen goods. (NSS)
