South West Monsoon Completely Withdrawn From Country, Heavy Rainfall Expected in TN; IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) declared that withdrawal of the southwest rainstorm from the whole nation is done and dusted. However, at the same time, the upper east storm downpours started over outrageous south peninsular India on Monday.

Southwest Storm 2021 Becomes India Fifth Most Delayed Rainstorm

“Taking into account the huge decrease in precipitation action over most pieces of the country, the southwest rainstorm has removed from the whole nation today. At the same time, with the setting in of northeasterly breezes in the lower tropospheric levels, the upper east rainstorm downpours has started peninsular south peninsular India,” the IMD said in a statement informed.

Examination of the date of withdrawal of southwest storm 2021 from the whole country with its recorded date for the time of 1975-2020 shows that the current year’s date is the fifth most delayed rainstorm withdrawal (on or after October 25) during 1975-2021.

Curiously, out of these seven years, during late long stretches of 2010-2021, for a considerable length of time, viz. 2010, 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2021, there was late withdrawal (October 25 or later).

Heavy Rainfall Is Still A Possibility In Tamil Nadu

Last week, the IMD had reported that total withdrawal of the SW storm was probably going to happen on October 26.

In the mean time, a cyclonic flow is probably going to create over southeast Bay of Bengal and its neighborhood by Tuesday. It is probably going to move westwards and along these lines, under its impact, a low strain region is probably going to shape over focal pieces of south Bay of Bengal during resulting 48 hours.

At the same time, heavy rainfall is possible over Tamil Nadu, Pudducherry, and Karaikal till October 29, over Kerala and Mahe till October 27, over south inside Karnataka on Tuesday, and over waterfront Andhra Pradesh and Rayalseema on October 28 and 29.
