Hanmakonda: Finding fault with the Warangal Urban district collector Amrapali, in a television channel interview, for stating that there was devil in the first floor of the building where she was residing in, Scientific Students Federation (SSF) state general secretary Nastik Rakesh condemned the collector’s remark that her predecessors told her about the devil.
In a statement issued today, Rakesh counselled that it was not proper for Amrapali, who was in highest position and a district magistrate also to speak like that, and she has to speak carefully when she was responding on the issues, which cause fear psychosis among the people. The Collector, being in a constitutional position, has the responsibility of educating the people and chases away the ignorance as per Article 51A (H) if any incident takes place in regarding devils, black magic and matras, he explained.
It was insulting on the part of collector to scare people saying that there was a devil in her building, he pointed out. He said that it was ridiculous on the part of Amrapali to speak in an encouraging manner that there were devils where the collectors in other states were sleeping in burial grounds stating that there were no devils. Rakesh made it clear that SSF was ready to prove that there was no devil in the first floor of collector building if it was given a chance to do so.(NSS)
