Start Haritha Haram Works: Minister To Officials

Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao today directed the officials concerned to get ready for next phase of Haritha Haram program in seven to10 days by cleaning bushes and waste including thorny plants along the stretch of roads. Ensure that every worker offered work immediately and complete the target of planting more saplings under the flagship greenery program he said during a video conference from Secretariat here. He instructed to upload FTO details online to make payment to the workers in just week days.

With collective efforts Telangana will be number one in the country in implementing employment assurance scheme the minister remarked. Besides planting saplings in a big way steps should be taken to protect them as per plan he said. Krishna Rao gave the officials a target to complete employment assurance works worth Rs 10 cr by June end while they have completd the works worth Rs 8.68 cr during April, May and June last year. The minister also instructed the officials to take up construction works related to toilets in schools, anganwadi buildings, Vaikunthadhamas on priority. Krishna Rao sought the officials to complete the construction of 1223 school toilets by October 2. He also warned of serious action against the officials if they failed to give work to anyone who seeks to do so. The officials have to work for a target to complete at least 60 per cent people should get 100 per cent works out of 50.80 lakh job cards given so far.

The minister also instructed to construct 647 buildings for Anganawadis, and already sanctioned 1155 buildings in the state by August 15. Since the Haritha Haram program is to get top priority efforts should be made to see that a massive plantation drive will be continued on a large scale and steps to protect them. Put adequate number of plants of all varieties in nurseries in the districts and supply them to villages as per demand besides pressing tankers to water supply.
