State Leaders mourn Jaipal Reddy

Hyderabad: Several State leaders today expressed their condolences over the sudden demise of Congress veteran leader S. Jaipal Reddy in the city.

Former MLA and State BJP president Dr K Laxman, in a statement, said he was pained at the news of the passing away of Jaipal Reddy. He said that Reddy was a voice of people in the Assembly and Parliament and added that his passing was a severe loss to the people of Telangana.

TPCC President and the party MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy said he was deeply saddened and pained at the demise of Jaipal Reddy. In a message, Uttam Kumar Reddy said Jaipal Reddy was one of the greatest sons of Telangana and that he followed a life of principles, probity and secularism. “His passing away was a huge personal loss to me and the Congress party,” he said while noting that Jaipal Reddy played a pivotal role in the formation of the Telangana State.

CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury  expressed his profound grief at the passing away of  Jaipal Reddy. “During his long political life, he consistently and steadfastly worked to uphold and strengthen the secular democratic foundations of India as enshrined in the Constitution. An honest and upright politician, he will be known for his erudition and scholarship. I had a close association with him for nearly four decades. His passing away is a big loss for the secular democratic forces in the country. I convey my deep and heartfelt condolence to his family and the large contingent of his admirers and friends,” Yechury said.

The CPI veteran leader Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy recalled his long association with Jaipal Reddy. He said that he and Jaipal reddy studied together in Osmania University. He also said that their friendship continued in the similar manner although they believed in two different ideologies. CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said Jaipal Reddy was clean and honest leader of the State.
TRS working president K T Rama Rao also condoled the death of the former statesman. “My condolences to the family & friends of senior leader & Former Union minister #JaipalReddy Garu”, who passed away earlier today.

The TRSLP leader in Lok Sabha Nama Nageswara Rao said Jaipal Reddy had brought laurels to all the posts that he held in his life. He said that he had worked with Reddy as the member of 15th lok sabha. TTDP politburo Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said he could not believe that Jaipal Reddy was no more while calling Reddy as a walking encyclopedia. Former MP Konda Visweswar Reddy said the Congress party had lost a great leader in the country. He said he had first met Jaipal Reddy after joining Congress party.

Agriculture Minister Singireddy Nirajnan Reddy, in a message said, Jaipal Reddy had brought respect and glory to Palamuru region through his services to the country as a Minister and as a Parliamentarian. He also recalled that Jaipal Reddy had received the Best Parliamentarian award and the deceased leader was known for his sincerity of purpose and dedication to the tasks he took up.

Leaders cutting across political parties paid tributes to Jaipal Reddy and recalled his services to the people of the country and Telangana. Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao and A Indrakaran Reddy, MLAs  T Harish Rao and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and former MP Kalvakunta Kavitha, cine actor brothers Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan and others.  (NSS)
