Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said the Telangana State was producing 162.68 lakh liters of milk every day.
Replying to questions raised by the members in the State Assembly on the issue of the development of the dairy industry in the State during question hour, the minister said the annual turnover of the State-owned Vijaya Dairy had reached ₹750 crores and added that they were giving ₹4 per litre as incentives to the dairy farmers. He also said they had handed over mobile vehicles to the farmers. The State government had launched Milch Cattle scheme for the convenience of the farmers.
Talasani said they were giving 75 percent subsidy to the SC, ST dairy farmers and 50 percent subsidy to other category farmers. He also said they laid the foundation stone for the construction of a mega-dairy at Ravirala village in Maheswararam mandal of Ranga Reddy district and the cost of the project was ₹246.25 crores. He also said they were making plans for the expansion of Vijaya dairy. He made it clear that the TRS government would always solve the problems of the dairy farmers. He said they had not only set up veterinary hospitals but were also distributing requisite medicines to the dairy farmers.

The minister told the House that they would take all steps for the all-round development of the dairy industry and added that they would set up mandal committees to achieve their goal. They would also extend cooperation to cooperative dairies, he added.
