Telangana Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has given clear instructions to police, directing that that one should not be spared in connection with the drug supply cases despite the accused having relations with the ruling party.
The Minister said the State government working sincerely to root out the menace of supplying gunja, drugs and other narcotic substance.
The Excise Minister on Saturday held a meeting with the pub owners and later reviewed the situation following the allegations that the rise in drug related cases in the pubs.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Minister Srinivas Goud said that the Telangana has become a gambling and gudamba free State and the government is committed to root out the menace of drugs in the days to come.
The Minister said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has given a free hand to the police to curb the supply of drug and it’s related substance in the State and directed them to act tough against all those involved.
On the occasion, the Minister urged the pub owners not to encourage the usage of drugs and cooperate with the police to root out the drug menace.
The minister said as Hyderabad is being recognised as one of the global cities by attracting investments, it is everyone responsibility to uphold its name and not to tarnish its image.
