Sudan ready to lease out land to potential investors: Envoy

HyderabadRavindra P Jaiswal, IFS, India Ambassador to Sudan today arrived here and interacted with CII Telangana members. The objective of the interaction was to promote Indo-Sudanese relations among CII member companies, especially in the areas of Trade & Commerce.

Speaking about the advantages of investing in the country, he said Sudan’s economic prospects are promising. With the USA lifting sanctions against that country, the prospects for investments are huge. The country presents numerous investment opportunities. It has a strategic location, gold reserves, oil and gas fields, other mineral resources like mercury, chrome, building stones, marbles, manganese and so on and also favourable climate, as well as excellent irrigation and soil conditions.

Jaiswal invited investors from the Agriculture, Food Processing, Sugar and pharmaceuticals Industry to invest in Sudan. Highlighting various opportunities, Jaiswal said Sudan has a lot of uncultivated arable land, the climate is suitable for all types of crops, and water is readily available. The Sudanese government was ready to lease out land to potential investors. A new port was also under consideration and it will help in trade relations with other countries. (NSS)
